As observed previously, the continuity is strong across time. Compared with high outliers on death count from the preceding 10-day interval (August 4-14), only one dropped out (Alabama). All three of the new states added to the high death list (Arizona, California, Idaho) had previously been near the threshold.
Across states, the diagnostic test-positive rate from the preceding 10-day interval correlated highly with the current death rate (r = +.83).
